Absolutely the best barbque, messed up wings, and burgers! Did I mention the mac & cheese? Yummy!! Not only delicious food but a fun experience!! Kristen is amazing!!! She is the most generous hard working woman I have ever met!! I have so much respect for her! She is a wonderful mother and a friend to all! Even if you are a Tar Heel fan!!! She was instrumental in feeding “her” people ( thousands of meals) when the hurricane devastated our county. Such a giving soul and a great chef!!! We love her!!!
Went here twice for dinner within the span of the week of my vacation. It was great. The service is excellent. Sweet Tea is top notch... as is their ranch and handcut fries. I definitely would recommend this place.
Kristin’s Hooked on smoke is 5 stars all the way!!! The BEST food you will eat in Ashe County! Not only is the food the best, Kristin is amazing! Once you meet her, she makes you feel like she’s known you forever! Her personality alone, makes you want to come back for more! My husband is a very picky eater, and her brisket is the best he’s ever had! Highly recommend Kristin and her amazing food and staff!

Second year coming to West Jefferson and I made a point of stopping to see Kristin and loading up on her great food. This year we got brisket which was delicious, brussel sprouts and the hot chips. All of it was very delicious. Nice big portions. I think she really enjoys making this good food and that is why it is special.
Kristin's food is amazing. Passion in every bite. She has a gift and can't do anything but share it. She's an essential part of the scaffolding of the food scene in this part of NC, and she's been a literal and figurative lifeline for the community since Hurricane Helene. Give her and all our area businesses some continued understanding and grace while they build back their livelihoods, as hours and business models may evolve. When Kristin's food truck is open, she's very communicative on social media about times and locations and food offerings. Don't miss out!
I have had the pleasure of eating Kristin's food quite a few times and it is always good! She puts her heart and soul into her food and tries her best to make each experience a good one. If you ever have an issue, she will make sure she fixes it before you leave her truck! She has been doing relief work since Helene, and I look forward to getting some of her food when she opens! We've been customers of Kristin's for about 5 months, and are locals. The food is always impeccably delicious and cooked perfectly. I am a huge fan of the brisket when it's available, and her burgers are simply the best around here, anyway. Paired with any number of mouth watering sides you have a great meal. And let's not forget about her bourbon meatloaf available by the pound or as a plate or sandwich. The delicious unique twist on an American classic. (Sometimes I can't decide so I split a burger with my wife and have some brisket as in the photo today) I highly recommend Kristin's Hook'd on Smoke any day that she's open, any time of year!
